In autumn of 2017 they will release their first record since 2014’s critically acclaimed True North EP.
Lead singer Mick D’Arcy explains ‘It’s been a long process, these three years. We were defiant! We did not want to release another record unless it had the necessary craft, scope and context we felt was required going forward’. ‘These songs are studies of the human condition, of environment and the ethereal understanding or perception of that relationship, in Ireland, in 2017′. ‘We are proud of the band’s evolution and are excited again to release new music into the world’.
Corner Boy have teamed up with grammy award producer Ted Hutt for the much anticipated release.
‘Combining traditional instruments with catchy folk melodies, Corner Boy are one of the strongest new contenders in Irish music.’ – Irish Independent (June, 2014)
‘Exuberant. It’s hand clapping, foot stomping stuff with more rousing choruses than a pub full of balled singers. Rootsier down-home baroque folk of the fleet foxes variety’. – Hot Press (May, 2013)
